Across the world, it has become so common for people to alter their physical appearance. For some, its through cosmetic surgery. For others, it's through a life long pursuit of the perfect shape, skin tone, size or strength. Behind it all is the belief that one's body isn’t good enough if it doesn't fit the popularised standards of a perfect body.

From women constantly comparing themselves to photoshoped images of the women portrayed as the world's most beautiful, to men feeling they are not tall, muscular or lean enough; the pressure is real and it is exhausting.

As a teenager, I felt out of place for having a different body structure. I did not perceive that bodies come in types. I expected all of us girls to have come hour glass figured, smaller feet and narrower shoulders. At one point, watching a botched like TV show, I imagined myself, one day lying on that bench for my own surgeries. Lately, I have come across video clips of men who underwent a height enhancement surgery to become taller. This pressure to hate our natural bodies is rooted in the same lie; "you have to look a certain way to be worthy".

Today, the thought of attempting those surgeries couldn't be farther from me. What changed? I got anchored in the fact that my life has a special purpose.

As I started to uncover why I was here, I began to see my body not as a project to fix but as a sacred vessel for carrying out that purpose. My body wasn’t a decoration that needed to constantly be altered to fit other people's preferences. It was a temple through which God wanted to fulfill His purpose for my life.

Maybe you too have felt the pressure to change your body, to shrink, to tuck, to fix, or to conform. Truthfully, you you’re not broken and you don’t need to “measure up” to a manmade ideal to be valuable! God didn’t make you by mistake. Your body is not a problem. it’s a masterpiece and a powerful tool in God’s hands.

That’s why I wrote Honour Your Body—a faith-filled guide that will help you see your body through God’s eyes, not the world’s.

"In this guide, I explore how faith transforms how we view and care for our bodies. Each section offers spiritual truth, encouragement, and practical wisdom to help you honour your body as God’s temple."

You were made fearfully. Wonderfully. Intentionally. It’s time you started living by that truth.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you…? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
